Wrong Woman Killed in Murder-for-Hire Plot Stemming From Love Triangle

Not the brightest bulbs in the box.

Police arrested three people in connection with the murder of Janice Marie Zengotita-Torres, who they say was misidentified by the killers.

Investigators say that Ishnar Marie Lopez-Ramos hired Alexis Ramos-Rivera and his girlfriend, Glorianmarie Quinones Montes, to kill another woman who was a romantic rival of hers, but they inadvertently kidnapped the wrong woman. Police believe they figured out they had the wrong woman, but proceeded with the murder anyway.

Zengotita-Torres died of suffocation after the suspects “continued with their plan of murder and tied the victim with zip ties, and then her head in duct tape and garbage bags,” say police.

Both women worked at ROSS Dress for Less in Kissimmee, Florida. The suspects followed her and “forcibly put the victim into the back of her own vehicle, and then drove away.”

“I get emotional because it just touches me so deeply that one of our citizens was killed in such a manner over mistaken identity,” Osceola County Sheriff Russ Gibson said. “In the end it appears to be a lover’s triangle.”
