Make sure they’re smothered!
A man in South Carolina had a hankering for some waffles and hash browns, but when he arrived at Waffle House, the employee was asleep on the job.
Rather than wake him, Alex Bowen took it upon himself to chef up his own meal.
Let’s just say he’d been drinking that night, so his decision was probably supported by a few beers. So, we understand the need for that greasy golden goodness.
“It was around 3 a.m. I was pretty inebriated,” he told ABC News.
Bowen said he searched the premises and waited for 10 minutes, but no one showed.
“That’s when I got hot on the grill with a Texas bacon cheesesteak melt,” Bowen told ABC News.
He was apparently the only customer there.
He cleaned up after himself and returned the next day to pay for his food.
They were so impressed with his cooking skills, they offered Bowen a job: “We are reviewing this incident and will take appropriate disciplinary action. In a related note, obviously Alex has some cooking skills, and we’d like to talk to him about a job since we may have something for him.”
No word on who the ghost employee was, but we are pretty sure he was fired.
