Celebrities get away with a lot these days. A LOT. However, sometimes they go overboard and let their anger out. Behind the spray tans, beaming white teeth, and piles of cash are some nasty habits. Sometimes it’s even caught on video. This can mean serious problems for their reputation and income, as well as likely anger management classes.
When celebs go too far, they may often end up in legal trouble from violence, property damage, or related lawsuits. Others got fired from their jobs. Many were ordered to undergo anger management counseling. From models to actors to rock stars, these celebs inflicted their rage towards others in a what was or became a very public way. From Twitter rants to violent rage, there are some that can’t control themselves. No matter the degree, one thing is sure: all of these celebs have anger management issues.
From Chris Brown to Alec Baldwin, here’s a look at some of the celebs that have have anger management issues.
Alec Baldwin has been arrested on numerous occasions for his violent outbursts. Remember the time he punched a guy over a parking space? Or the time he left an abusive message calling his young daughter a “pig” after she didn’t pick up his call? He eventually was ordered to undergo anger management counseling. He told Howard Stern, “When you go to anger management, you realize you’re not that angry.” He’s currently putting his energy into playing President Donald Trump on SNL.
Chris Brown is just as well known for his violent altercation with ex-girlfriend Rihanna as he is for his music. After his arrest at 19, he continued to have a turbulent life stemming from his anger issues. “I remember she tried to kick me, just like her beating s–t, but then I really hit her. With a closed fist, like I punched her and it busted her lip. And when I saw it I was in shock, I was like, f–k why did I hit her like that?” Brown said in his 2017 documentary Welcome to My Life: The Official Chris Brown Documentary. He talked about his struggles with his behavior, saying, “I went from being on top of the world, No. 1 songs, being kind of like America’s sweetheart to being Public Enemy No. 1. I felt like a f–king monster. I was thinking about suicide, I wasn’t sleeping, I barely ate.” He served community service but faced issues with violations.
In 2013, he was charged with assault after he and his bodyguards were involved in a fight with a man outside a hotel. He also famously threw a chair through a glass window after an interview gone awry and threw a rock through his mother’s car window. He was ordered into anger management repeatedly over the years. He also checked into anger management shortly after punching a man who photobombed a picture with a fan. His ex-girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, accused him of violent behavior and obtained a restraining order against the singer. Lately, he’s seemingly gotten his act together after focusing on his daughter Royalty.
Fact is, Blac Chyna takes a lot of heat from the public, whether you think she deserves it or not. More than once, she’s let her anger get the best of her. She reportedly got into a violent altercation with her boyfriend Kid Buu during a vacation that ended with both putting their hands on each other and police getting called. She also was captured on video swinging a stroller at someone who she said touched her child at an amusement park. Even the father of her child, Rob Kardashian, claimed she had been violent with him to the point that he hired extra security.
Azealia Banks has instigated her fare of beef over the years, and she always takes it to that extra level. She got herself banned from Twitter over her bad behavior online. She and actor Russel Crowe had a physical altercation at a party, and the two battled in the media as well. She also was captured being verbally abusive to flight staff and passengers on a Delta flight. She pleaded guilty to biting a security guard’s breast, and she even assaulted her own sister. While she has been sentenced to anger management, it doesn’t seem to have changed her ways.
Never one to bite his tongue, Charlie Sheen has had his fair share of angry outbursts and poor behavior. It got him fired from his hit sitcom Two And A Half Men, after which he got a show literally titled “Anger Management.” He has been accused of physically abusing previous partners like his ex-wife Donna Peele. He also got into a violent altercation with then girlfriend Brittany Ashland who required stitches. He and ex-wife Denise Richards both made startling accusations during their contentious divorce, with Richards saying he kept guns under the coffee table. We really don’t have time here to go into all of his nonsense, but know this: the list is long.
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino
Jersey Shore’s “The Situation” had a reputation for being very aggressive and violent on the show’s early days. Now, he’s a changed man. He completed anger management classes and has taken a new view on life these days. He learned a lesson after he became so angry during a stay in Italy with his castmates that he knocked himself out: “I always like to say I have no regrets, but in Italy, somehow, some way, I made a huge miscalculation and I headbutted the wall. It just wasn’t a good decision. I would never recommend … anything like that ever again.” We agree.
Naomi Campbell has long had a reputation of bad behavior. Her major troubles stemming from her violent outbursts started in 1998 after she pleaded guilty to hitting her assistant with a phone. Many other employees have accused her of similar behavior over the years, though many cases were dismissed in court. She also had domestic disputes where police were called. She completed community service after being charged with assault against her former housekeeper (she threw a phone at her). The judge also ordered her to complete anger management classes.
Mel Gibson made many international news not for his movies, but for his vile, filthy rants filled with sexism and anti-semitism. It came to light that he had a severe substance abuse problem, and he often lashed out when intoxicated. He had been arrested for DUI before, but no one knew the extent of his drunken behavior until it was broadcast across the Internet. The mother of his child, Oksana Grigorieva, accused him of domestic violence after the two split in 2010, and he was heard berating her on tape, which ricocheted across the Internet. He was ordered to have a year of counseling, do community service, and have 3 years of probation by courts.
Just because she’s pretty doesn’t mean she won’t mess you up. Cardi B isn’t even trying to hide her anger issues. She rapped on her song “Drip,” “I gotta work on my anger / Might kill a b***h with my fingers.” In 2018, she was arrested and charged with reckless endangerment and assault after allegedly ordering the assault of two female bartenders, one of whom she supposedly believed had an affair with her husband. She also emerged with a giant knot on her head from a NYFW event after a brawl broke out stemming from the beef between her and Nicki Minaj. She even said she used to drug and rob men when she was a stripper. For now, Cardi seems to be focused on her family as she works out her current legal drama.
